Demonetisation – Himalayan Blunder or favoring black money holders?

Demonetisation

“Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan has revealed that the institution had warned the government about the ramifications of the latter’s decision to demonetise the high-value currency notes overnight. In an interview to The Times of India, Rajan said that though the central bank’s advice was solicited in the matter, it was not asked to take a stand on the note ban.
The former RBI chief said that he had warned the Centre about the immediate consequences of unplanned demonetisation, and that he had proposed substitute moves for rooting out a suspected shadow economy. “The RBI flagged what would happen if preparation was inadequate,” the newspaper cited Rajan as saying.” (Ganashakti Daily).
It is exposed now. Demonetisation was implemented with out any preparation and ignoring the opinion of the Reserve bank of India, The aims of the demonetisation as claimed by the Prime Minister – not even one of them is fulfilled. On the other hand, people had to face lot of difficulties, business came down and the economy also came down.
Demonetisation was nothing short of the blunder of shifting of the capital from Delhi to Daulatbad (Deccan) by Mohammed bin Tuglak.
Or, was it a calculated move on the part of the government to give a chance to the black marketeers, big business, corporates and BJP leaders to convert black money in to white money?

Centre, Kerala Government

Kerala LDF Government led by Pinarayi Vijayan is moving ahead with people friendly programmes and active implementation of the same. The support to the govt is increasing.

The central govt led by BJP and guided by RSS is unable to digest this situation. All baseless propaganda is being spread by RSS and BJP. Their long term aim is to get the Kerala govt got dismissed, as was done in 1959.

But this time, it is not easy Shri Amit Shah!

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

The Democratic Republic of Vietnam, DRVN, came in to being on 2nd September 1945 throwing away the French and the local king. The revolution was led by the veteran leader Ho Chi Minh, who became the first Prime Minister of the republic. USA attacked the new Republic and killed thousands of people, but in the grim war, USA was defeated and had to withdraw licking its wounds. Vietnam and its people had to suffer many more years due to the use of Napalm bomb by the USA. Vietnam is marching ahead as a socialist state, despite several crises.

Warm Greetings to the people of Vietnam on their Republic Day!

Misuse of UAPA – CPIM Statement

Jayarajan, UAPA

CPIM Politburo has issued the following statement today:

Misuse of UAPA

The Polit Bureau strongly opposes the use of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) to file charges against P. Jayarajan, member of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) and Secretary of the Kannur District Committee.

The UAPA is meant to deal with terrorist crimes. The CBI has invoked provisions under the UAPA to charge Jayarajan with conspiracy to commit a terrorist offence. This is a gross misuse of the provisions of the UAPA and a deliberate effort to target a political leader

Union Cabinet reshuffle will not improve its image

Reshuffle of cabinet

The demonetisation, GST, death of more than 100 children in Gorakhpur Hospital, the suicide of thousands of Kisans, the large number of corruption cases, crime against women by the BJP representatives in Assembly and Parliament etc. have already tarnished the image of the BJP at centre and at states. The BJP leaders have no reply on the above issues. Instead, the reshuffle of the Cabinet is being shown as the panacea.

Reshuffling the cabinet by giving seats to JDU or AIADMK will not stop the rot. In fact, it will only increase. Cosmetic solutions are of no use. Pro-people policy has to be adopted and implemented.

Demonetisation: No Gain; Short Term & Long Time Pain – Sitaram Yechury

Demonetisation, Yechury

The following very relevant questions were raised by Com. Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary CPIM) regarding Demonetisation in a Press Conference in Delhi on 31st August 2017. The government is duty bound to answer the questions. However, the Prime Minister and other responsible persons are avoiding the questions and hiding behind silence.

Some Questions that Demand Answers

1. Who decided to demonetise? (Was it the PM?) Is that the reason why Raghuram Rajan was forced to go?

2. More than 100 people died in queues, trying to get their own, hard-earned money due to PM’s announcement. Who is responsible? Why no compensation? Is there an FIR?

3. Reportedly, more than 100% of demonetised currency is coming back after Bhutanese, Nepalese and Coop Banks Currency is taken in. This shows it’s a successful Money Laundering scheme.

4. In Bengal and elsewhere too, BJP members were known to have made bulk deposits of massive amounts just before Demonetisation was announced. So it was the biggest scam of Independent India. So much for PM’s fight against corruption.

5. There was no mention of digitisation on Nov 8, but the the Economy crashed, the government went out of the way to help certain selected private companies under the mask of ‘digitisation.’ PM himself featured in full-page ads of a private company (Paytm). Why? Clearly to give a profit bonanza to international and domestic players.

6. Was this entire exercise done to protect the corporates who are refusing to return the loans they had taken from our nationalised banks which according to one estimate is around Rs. 11,00,000 crores, including interest? Was this done to prevent the banks from collapsing as a consequence of these loans? The government instead should have taken measures to recover these loans which is people’s money.

7. Corruption has far from ended. The amount of money in 2000 rupee notes is much more than the amount of money in 1000 rupee notes. Is that what the PM wanted? To help the corrupt rich?

8. PM’s claims on Counterfeit currency are wrong. This scheme has legitimised all counterfeit currency.

9. There were claims that this was to finish Terror. Far from it, numbers of security personnel lost to terror has gone up significantly since.

10. The Informal sector has collapsed. All data shows that this sector which employs more than two-thirds of our workforce has collapsed due to demonetisation. Lives, Livelihoods and Jobs have been decimated. This government is responsible for this.

11. Ill-Effects of demonetisation on rural markets and Agriculture, heightened the distress among farmers. Their protests have been met by police firing from BJP state governments.

12. Why were people imposed with a burden of printing new notes costing Rs. 8000 crores; ATM recalibration cost of over Rs. 35,000 crores in addition to the loss of economic activity estimated by the CMIE and others to the tune of Rs. 1,50,000 crores?

13. How much taxpayer money in ads has the centre spent to ‘ glorify’ the PM and Demonetisation?

14. The government must fix accountability for this disaster and punish those responsible.

Gorakhpur – death or murder?

31 Thursday Aug 2017

Gorakhpur

About 300 children have died in the Gorakhpur BRD Hospital. The deaths are continuing unabated. The young children, the future citizens of the country are dying with out getting required treatment. The Chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, who represents the constituency and who while in the opposition has criticised the government for the poor condition of the hospital, has done nothing to improve the situation. This is nothing but murder of the young children.

Has the Chief Minister got any right to continue in his position?.

Demonetisation – nothing but a torture of the people.

Demonetisation

It has now been reported by the Reserve bank authorities that about 99% of the cancelled high value notes have been received back. The claim of the central government was that black money will be caught and exposed. Where is the black money caught? All the money has come back and the people with black money has also got the new notes.

Demonetisation has been a torture of the people. More than 100 people have died standing in the queue for getting their own money from the ATMs. There has been many reports of certain political parties, especially the ruling BJP, having changed their notes of crores of rupees just one day before demonetisation. The government has in fact given chance to the corporates and big business to make their ill gotten wealth in to legal money.

Why untouchability for ‘Black’?

30 Wednesday Aug 2017

black

Whether in English or even in Indian languages, the word ‘black’/ similar word in the respective language, is used to denote some thing wrong, ugly, useless, brute, low standard and so on. black list, black money, black law, black Art, black Knight, blacksmith blackmail, black out, black sheep, black leg, black Monday, black mark, black English etc. are some of these words.

What is the justification to defame the ‘black’ thus? ‘Black’ is one colour just like others. But it is the colour of the Africans, the Dravidians etc. who have been conquered by the whites. It is used to humiliate the conquered. And the colour itself became part of this humiliation through centuries. Lord Krishna, though black, is mentioned only as blue in Bhagavatham and other epics, as it will be something derogatory.

It is time to change this humiliation of black and black people. ‘Black’ colour is to be treated as any other colour and all the derogatory words connected with ‘black’ should be withdrawn. Black is a beautiful colour and black people are also beautiful just like others. There can not be any discrimination between the black and white or with any other colour.
