The Karnataka CM has now been compelled to hand over the death case of D.K.Ravi IAS’s death case to the CBI after direction from Congress President Sonia Gandhi. The entire country and in the Parliament also there has been strong protest and demand to hand over the case to CBI, but the CM only wanted a CID enquiry under the state government. DK Ravi IAS was the Additional Commissioner, Commercial Taxes who was organising raids on the powerful business community for tax evasion etc.
Let the CBI enquiry bring forth the truth.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) vide order dated 19th March has declared 14th April 2015 as a closed holiday as the Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India and also the messiah of the exploited scheduled castes. So far well and good.
But why the declaration every year just before the 14th April? It should be declared as a holiday, along with the calendar of Holidays being published by the government before the start of the year. We do not understand why is the hesitation to do so.
The government should certainly consider the suggestion.

38 years have passed after the draconian “Internal Emergency” promulgated by Indira Gandhi was with drawn and democracy restored to India.
The Emergency was promulgated on 25th June 1975 after the cancellation of the Election of Indira Gandhi, violating all norms of democracy. All the opposition leaders were arrested and put in jail. More than 1,40,000 people were put in prison. Many Trade Union leaders were put behind bar during the Emergency. Com.N.J.Iyer was arrested and put in prison. News papers were not allowed to publish any news against the government. it was almost terror let loose.
The government was compelled to conduct election in March 1977, in which the ruling party Indian National Congress bit the dust and almost all leaders including Indira Gandhi was defeated. It could not get a single seat in UP which was always its base. The Janata party won with good majority.
The Emergency was withdrawn on 21st March 1977 and democracy restored.
The dark days of Emergency should never happen again!

India is one of the five countries, India, Brazil, China, Mexico and Indonesia, which accounts for half of the world’s poor. India tops the list. This is as per the report of the International Food Policy Research Institute. The report also states that India has got 47.9% of the stunted children in the world, the maximum of any country.
The rules of the country, both UPA and NDA or Congress and BJP should hang their heads in shame that they could not remove poverty in the country. While the crorepatis and millionaires have been increasing on the one hand, the poorest were also increasing.
The neo-liberal policies being adopted by the successive governments have made the situation worse. The governments, even after sixty 67 years of freedom can not remove poverty have no right to continue.
These rulers have never known poverty and hunger. Had they experienced poverty and hunger, they would have taken some action, at least. Shame on them!

The Central government has asked the Gramin/Rural banks to cut their staff to ensure viability. A number of employees will be deprived of their jobs.
The Central Government is expected to create more jobs and reduce unemployment. But the NDA government is moving to cut even the existing jobs.
Probably this is also part of a scheme to privatise the rural/gramin banks.
