The profit making PSU, Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) is in the process of being strategically sold. It is reported that this PSU which has got assets to the tune of Rs. 56,000 crore and has always posted profit is being strategically sold for only Rs. 1,000 crores to Reliance. The assets of the nation is being gifted to the Reliance on a silver plate. About 70 such PSUs, including BSNL and MTNL are proposed to be sold as per the recommendation of NITI Ayog.

5th March 2017 is the 23rd death anniversary of Comrade N.P.Padmanabhan, former Secretary NFPTE and also former Convener of the mighty P and T Co-Ordination Committee NFPTE, Kerala. Pappettan, as he was fondly called was a powerful and committed leader, who took the entire P and T workers of Kerala in to sustained struggles for achieving their demands and against victimisation.
Not only Postal and Telecom employees, but also many organisations and workers sought the help of Pappettan in their struggles. He was a guide and philosopher for each and every employee.
On his death anniversary, let us pledge to continue our struggle for the betterment of the toiling masses!

Yesterday, 24th February 2017, I have shifted to my home at Kozhikode after a long period of work and stay at New Delhi. Exactly it is more than 25 years back in November 1991 that I shifted from Calicut to New Delhi, immediately after being elected as the President of E.3 Union at its All India Conference at Bhopal.
The last 25 years of my stay at New Delhi has been eventful. Organising and strengthening the union, fight for the cause of the workers, unite and co-ordinate the various executive and Non-Executive Unions/Associations in BSNL – these were the main tasks. I hope that I have made maximum efforts for the above.
At the time of leaving Delhi, I wish to express thanks to all comrades and friends, who helped and assisted me in discharging my duties effectively.

The beautiful Palace city of Mysuru in Karnataka witnessed effective deliberations, active discussions and appropriate decisions. The occasion was the Central Executive Committee Meeting held at Com.M.P.Kunhanandan Nagar in Regional Telecom Training Centre on 23rd and 24th February, 2017. The CEC started with hoisting of National Flag by Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri , Advisor and AIBDPA flag by Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary. Thereafter the participants paid homage to the martyrs.
