The U.K.Government has increased the hourly minimum wage to attract more workers to UK. The wage for one hour earlier was £ 6.70 ( Appx. Rs. 497), which has now been increased to £ 7.20 ( Rs. 680), an increase of about Rs. 180/-. The daily wage (for 8 hours) will come to about Rs. 5,440 in addition to other social security benefits.
In India, even the minimum wage decided by the government is not paid to the workers, including in BSNL, a Public Sector Unit. Only sustained struggle is the way to achieve the same.
