God and Gold inseparable!

11 Saturday Apr 2015

The temples, the respidences of gods, are huge depository of gold, tons and tons of them. There is no correct inventory or estimate of them. How much of it is looted is also not known.
The Thiruvananthapuram Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple are known to have hundreds of tons of gold valued at  lakh of crore of rupees with them. Now another temple has come in the lime light.
Sidhi Vinayak Temple in Mumbai is stated to have 158 tons of gold worth Rs.417 crore.
What these offerings to God are being utilised for? Centuries back, the invaders ransacked the temples and took all valuables. Now who is going to loot – the government, the former kings or the present owners.
One thing is clear. It is not the god who is interested; but the man. There is no limit to greed.

After a long period the heads of Communist Cuba and imperialist USA
Shook hands and exchanged a few words. Since many decades, there are no diplomatic relations between them. US had imposed ban on trade with Cuba which hurt the small country heavily.
Recently negotiaions have started and diplomatic relations are going to be renewed. The tides have turned during the last few years and most of the countries in America now supports Cubs. This has compelled US to rethink. It is a good development.

Minimum Pension

The government decision to suspend the earlier decision of Rs. 1,000 minimum pension to EPS holders is anti-worker, anti-pensioner and is strongly protested.

We demand the government to immediately restore the Rs. 1,000 Minimum Pension.

CITU Protests against suspension of Rs. 1,000 Minimum Pension.

EPS, Minimum Pension

New Delhi, Apr 10 The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) today registered a protest against Employees Provident Fund Organisation’s (EPFO) move to suspend the minimum pension of Rs 1000 and asked the NDA government to continue with the scheme proposed during the previous dispensation.

The UPA government had taken the decision to increase the minimum pension to Rs 1,000 for pensioners and widow pensioners under the Employees Pension Scheme 1995.

But, the retirement fund body’s has decided to suspended the minimum monthly pension scheme from this month, which will hit about 32 lakh pensioners.

“EPFO has issued circulars putting on hold the minimum pension. The CITU registers its strongest protest against this action of EPFO and Government of India,” CITU President A K Padmanabhan said in a statement.

Padmanabhan said the NDA government had in September 2014 decided to go ahead with implementation of the UPA dispensation’s scheme, but only uptil March 2015. The scheme sought to hike the pension amount to a flat Rs 1,000 per month for those who were getting lower amount earlier.

“Trade unions had at that time itself objected to this, pointing out that this limited order will be used against workers by stopping it at the will of the government. But, Government had assured it will not be stopped.

“The circular issued now by EPFO has raised serious concern among workers and pensioners on the intentions of the government, as it comes in the background of various retrograde changes proposed in EPF Schemes by it,” Padmanabhan alleged.

He asked the Centre to immediately issue orders for continuing with the minimum pension scheme.

The CITU also urged trade unions, workers and pensioners organisations to raise their voice of protest against this “unwanted” delay in the issuance of orders for continuation of the minimum pension.

The files related to the death/
missing of Subhas Chandra Bose are still kept secret. Why? The government should tell the people what happened. They got a right to know.

21-22 April Strike- conciliation

Conciliation by the Chief Labour Commissioner on strike notice issued by Forum

The conciliation meeting called by the Chief Labour Commissioner was held today, 09th April 2015, at the Committee Room of the labour ministry in Shram Shakti Bhawan. Chief Labour Commissioner,  Shri P.P.Mitra  presided. Other senior labour officers were present. From the Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations, almost all the unions/associations were represented.  Officers from the DOT and BSNL including Sr GM (SR), GM (Estt.), GM(Admn) and GM(Restructuring) were present.

After self introduction by all, the Forum leaders were asked to present the case. The 20 point demands of the strike notice were very effectively presented by the Forum leaders. Almost all the comrades participated in presenting the issues.

The issue of refund of Rs. 6,700 crore for surrendered spectrum, Rs.1,250 due  in lieu of ADC already allotted, the urgent need to procure equipments, making it mandatory for Central /State governments/PSUs to take BSNL connections, financial assistance to BSNL as assured at the time of corporatisation through ADC, refund of licence charges, compensation for loss making connections, liberal support from USO Fund, no to merger of BSNL and MTNL, no formation of tower company, need to merge BBNL with BSNL, Pension Revision, Pension contribution on the basis of actual pay instead of maximum of the pay scale, transfer of assets to BSNL, 78.2% IDA fixation for pensioners, 30% superannuation benefits to BSNL recruited employees etc.etc. were presented by the union leaders in a very effective way.

The Director who spoke on behalf of DOT only stated that efforts are being made to pay the refund of the spectrum charges of Rs.6,700 crore and the Rs. 1,250 crore in lieu of ADC. The Management representatives could not give any satisfactory reply on the demands.

The issues of the casual & contract workers were explained by the leaders of BSNLCCWF, who were also invited to the meeting on the strike notice issued for 21-22 April by the BSNLCCWF.

The CLC requested the Forum leaders to defer the two days strike in view of the conciliation and the information given by the DOT and BSNL management representatives.

Since there has been no progress on the issues, the question of deferment does not arise.

Full preparations are to be made for the complete success of the strike. The next meeting of the Forum will be held at 03.00 PM on 20th April 2015.

SAVE BSNL, SAVE NATION!
