In a shocking incident, Com.C.K.Mathivanan, Circle Secretary, NFTE and Chairman of Forum, Chennai Circle, has been murderously attacked with a 3-4 feet sword by one disgruntled employee (J.Stalin, RM) of the CGM(O) on 22nd April, the second day of the strike. The comrades nearby overpowered the culprit and avoided a tragedy. Com. Mathivanan was wounded and he was taken to the hospital and treated. He has been advised complete rest.
The Circle Forum leaders, including Com.K.Govindaraj, CS BSNLEU and Convener Forum met the CGM and demanded immediate action against the culprit.
The Forum strongly demands that immediate action should be taken to suspend and file FIR against the culprit.
Comrade first let me congratulate all the employees for the successful two days strike all over the country and am saddened by the extreme step taken by one comrade against another. If it was personal enemity then strict action should be intiated and guilty should not be spared. But if the issue is against frustration of the employees against the govt and forum we should introspect what has happened wrong. Employees are under constant threat and such a situation is dangerous for the employees as well as organisation. Again it is requested to form one comitted which will look into the dark side of the company and if need arise forum can file PIL against the govt. Happy to note that forum leaders have taken a decision to go for indefinite strike which by means bring govt to its knee to settle our core issue. An humble plea to the leaders is to ago to any extent if the govt fails to look into the demands of the employees and doesn’t sign an agreement. Now we want only written agreement not just oral promises from the management and the govt. It was a complete strike in Karnataka circle under the dynamic leadership of com. Gundanna. He has worked very hard to see that the strike is complete and successful. Red salute to all comrades and march ahead to safeguard all the employees of BSNL.
Congratulations for the complete strike in Karnataka.
