New Delhi, Feb 2 : In one of its biggest recruitment drives, government has announced hiring of over 62,000 young men and women as constables in central paramilitary and police organisations this year.
The candidates will be hired by central forces like CRPF,BSF, ITBP, SSB, CISF, NIA and SSF as the Union Home Ministry launched the mega-drive of hiring workforce for these security organisations in the last about five years.
Apart from reservation for SC/ST and OBC candidates, relaxation of applicable age has been made for the children and dependents of the victims of 2002 Gujarat riots and 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
“This is one of the largest recruitment drives that is being held by the central government for hiring in paramilitary and other allied forces. The large-scale hiring is being conducted keeping in view an increasing role of these forces and growth in number of battalions sanctioned to these forces in the recent past,” a senior Home Ministry officer said.
The examination in this context is being done by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on the directions of the Union Home Ministry, the official said. (PTI)

Foxcom company is moving towards shutting its Chennai unit, which will result in more than its 1,300 workers unemployed. The unions have been negotiating with the management to continue its operations, but on the plea of loss, the company is closed for the last one month. The company is moving to close down the unit permanently. The intervention by the state government has not been successful.
During the last few months similar things are happening with job loss for thousands of workers. The Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) is on the process of retrenching about 70,000 of its high tech officials, though the company denies the same, stating that the number is much less and it is a regular feature. The retrenchment is done so that the employees with some years of service and who are getting higher pay can be retrenched and new employees recruited to whom low salary can be given, thus reducing the salary expenditure.
Against this new attack, the IT professionals demonstrated in Delhi two days back. They have also decided to form trade union to defend their rights and jobs.

According to a latest report on industry, it is stated that out of the total 39.74 crore workforce in the country, only 4.97 crores are in the formal sector leaving 34.77 crore in the informal sector.
Even in the formal sector, out of the 4.97 crores, 2.88 crore are temporary workers. In the informal sector most of the workers are temporary only. Thus the temporary workers/ contract workers form more than 90% of the workforce. Most of these workers are denied minimum wage, social security measures like EPF, ESI etc. and have no job security at all.
The ruling parties, mainly Congress and the BJP, never took care about these toiling workers. They are continuously exploited for the benefit of and for maximizing the profits of the rich and powerful.
The sustained struggles of the 11 Central Trade Unions have focused on the seriousness and urgency of the issues to be settled. The struggle of the casual and contract workers in BSNL is part of this great struggle for survival.

The BSNL workers were in the forefront in restoring the services in J and K at the time floods, in Uttarakhand at the time of avalanches/landslides and also when Sunami in the Eastern Coast. Everywhere, when the people were in distress and communications services were down, it was the BSNL Management and workers who restored the services and came to the rescue of people. Not the private companies. They are interested in profit only.
The Chief Ministers and authorities of all these places commended the hard work of BSNL and its employees.
Now we have to ensure that not only at thr time of natural calamities, but also in day to day work, we have to engage ourselves as in emergecies and ensure that BSNL services are the BEST.
It can be done, it has to be accomplished.
We are workers, real workers and not shirkers.

AIPRPA CHQ WROTE LETTER TO NCCPA SECRETARY GENERAL ON FORMATION OF AIPRPA AND THE STAND OF NCCPA OVER IT
COMRADE S.K.VYAS SECRETARY GENERAL NCCPA REPLIED ENCOURAGING FORMATION OF AIPRPA AS A RIGHT STEP IN MOBILIZING LARGE SECTIONS OF UNORGANISED PENSIONERS UNDER DEPARTMENT WISE PENSIONERS ASSOCIATIONS
The reply of Secretary General NCCPA is reproduced below in this connection.ON (NCCPA)
NATIONAL CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE OF PENSIONERS’ ASSOCIATION
13-C, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi -110001
Dear Com. K. Ragvendran,
Thanks for your letter dated 31.12.2014. As I was out of Delhi, there is a certain delay in reply for which I may kindly be excused.
NCCPA is not at all opposed to the idea of a monotithic Pensioners Organisation of Postal Pensioners. we have seen that formation of Central Government (Composite) Pensioners Associations have not been able to motivate all pensioners to join them. If postal pensioner has initiated to form CGPA, the majority of those who have joined it, are Postal Pensioners and only a few Pensioners from other Departments have joined it. If on the other hand an Audit & Accounts Pensioner has initiated to form Pensioners Association, the majority who have joined it are Audit & Accounts Pensioners with few from other Departments. Whereas Postal Pensioners Associations / Railway Pensioners Associations / Central Excise & Customs Pensioners Associations whereever formed have obtained membership from most of the pensioners from respective Departments. On the basis of these ground realities, NCCPA totally favours Pensioners Associations of respective Departments which can federate into a National level Pensioners Associations of respective Departments and these federations can affiliate with NCCPA while their Circle / State level bodies may affiliate with the State /Circle Committees of NCCPA. This is the pattern which is obtaining in Confederation of CGEs & Workers as well.
The CGP as already in existence would obviously be reluctant for such a reorganisation of Pensioners Associations as they would take this move as poaching away some of their members. If we explain that since these Departments wise Pensioners Associations will affiliate at the National level with NCCPA and at State / Circle level with state committees, the composite character would be restored with wider unity amongst the Pensioners, I hope this will satisfy them.
With greetings,
Yours fraternally,
Sd/-
