December 21, 2014 Press Statement The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) now in session in New Delhi has issued the following statement: Prohibit Forcible Reconversion The BJP and the RSS are indulging in doublespeak by talking about religious conversions. The RSS organisations are conducting a reconversion campaign targeting the minorities. The RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has justified this reconversion as bringing back people to their original faith. The episode of reconversion in Agra has exposed how false assurances and inducements were used for reconversion. At the same time the BJP and RSS leaders are demanding a law to ban forcible religious conversions. There is no need for such a law as Article 25 of the Indian Constitution provides for “freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religions”. If there is any forcible conversion it is already covered under Indian Penal Code (Section 153(a)) as it classifies forcible attempts in the name of religion as a criminal offence. In fact the RSS campaign for forcible reconversion and the call for a law to ban forcible conversions are both directed against the religious minorities and intended to use the issue of conversion to sharpen communal divisions. The Polit Bureau demands that the RSS sponsored reconversion campaign be prohibited using the provisions of the law. |

I m unable to understand where these secular parties gone, when lakhs of people got converted to Christianity by forgien missionaries with promises of magic healings, education…. Is this not came to notice of so called sickular parties
Dear Comrade,
Any individual has the right to accept the religion he likes. But we can not accept both forced conversion and also forced reconversion.
That’s what I m asking sir..Where this CPI party gone when lakhs of poor people got converted by missionaries through foreign funds by allurements of magic healings n education.. Why these people not responded at that time when the numbers in lakhs. But now few hundreds of reconversions also a national issue for them
In the past many conversions, forcibly and also upon own convictions have taken place, whether it is from Hinduism to Budhism or vice-versa, in the same way from one religion to other religion. We are in the new situation, where communal strife is there much and also any such situation is fully utilised to make enmity between religions and clash. This has to be avoided. That is why any such force conversion and reconversion is not good for the country and the people.
Plz go through the link sir…I dont know why secularity makes hinduism as inferior. Why no party raises our issue when crores are unofficially got converted…

This is what type of secularism Sir …Conversion from Hindu to others is normal..where as reverse is a big national issue and cause communal disharmony..One has to check both way conversions or keep quite..
Kindly remember that crores of people were forcibly converted from Budhism to Hinduism and their temples were made Hindu temples. The Ashok Chakra were broken in to pieces every where. Budhist centres were taken over or destroyed. Even now in many of the temples in Bihar, UP etc. one can see the writings and images of Budha. But that was in the past. So whether anybody can be forcibly converted to Budhism now? Past is past. The mistakes committed in the past can not be repeated.
Sir..I m not talking about ages old Buddhist conversions.. Presently on going Christian conversions n lobe jihad’s.. In many states mass programs are going on for this. I think u r not unaware of these. Why no party arisen these programs in Parliament… Why this dual stand?
We have already had a series of discussion. The issue is very clear that a heinous plan is being hatched up to communalise and divide the society. This can not be allowed. That is the main point. Who ever does this, it can not be accepted.
