It is reported that after this General Elections, only three parties are expected to remain as National Parties. They are BJP, Congress and CPI(M). CPI is being taken away from the National Party status. However, no notification has been issued in this matter.

4, Ashoka Road Bungalow has been vacated by CPI(M) due to less number of MPs than last time. Its recognition as National Party continues. But CPI will lose the national recognition.
