The Mughals ruled India for more than three centuries. It started with the Panipat War in 1526 with Babar defeating Ibrahim Lodi and the end of Lodi Dynasty. The war started and ended on 21st April 1526. The Mughal dynasty continued till 1857, for at least namesake, when the British crushed the First war of Independence. The Mughals, in fact, had lost their power much before.
The conquerors win not through the sheer numbers of army, but through tactics and war strategy. In the 1526 Panipat War, the Lodis had 30,000 to 40,000 soldiers with about 1,000 war elephants. But Babar had only about 10,000 – 15,000 soldiers, but had the cannons and a clear strategy. Naturally, Ibrahim Lodi was defeated and killed in the war.
In many other wars also, you can see the victory of the better strategy and use of better arms.
Indians were lacking in both. Further there were people to join with the enemy and help them. That is why we were ruled by foreigners for centuries.
Now we are free. Instead of foreign military, MNCs are coming and trying to control the finance of the country. Let us not get in to the trap. Let us fight this capitalism and crony capitalism and remain free both politically and economically and progress.
Dear Comrade,
Your bloggings are nice and you are choosing appropriate topics to discuss in short in appropriate timings. And these are very interesting and thought provoking too.
The Mogul Dynasty, having reached India could rule Indians for 300 years, is a matter to be analysed and thought of, why ? In fact, having reached India, they had formed a strong imperial by uniting all small princely ruled states of India, without interfereing in their internal economic and political affairs and by granting maximum autonomy to all of them Further, they having united all the princely states, strengthen the defense force in by hiring soldiers from all the states and then rewarding all the participating soldiers as Jaigidars, Subedars and/or area lords or by giving them more and more agricultural lands as soon as any war is over, They also established blood relations with the Hindu kings, by marrying their daughters, without converting them into Muslim religion (example Jodhabai and others) and also nominated all the Hindu War-lords and influencial Hindu Kings in their Ruling Council (just as Parliament) and made the Defence of India in such a formidable way that during their Rule of 300 years, no foreign invaders were successful capture any portion of their kingdom. Further more they strictly followed the principle of secularism, ( upto Aurangazeb’s time, even though British Historians tried to distort the real history in a different ways) that they were very much popular all over the country and were considered as saviours of lives and properties of all Indians.
From their administrations, till now our rulers have got many things to learn as to how India became a formidable country during Mughal Rules.
Your Sincerely,
