The third round of spectrum auction is expected to start from January 7 as per the tentative timeline prepared by the inter-ministerial committee (IMC), which was set up by the Department of Telecom for the purpose.
The base price for the spectrum will be brought down. But to what extent will be known after the difference between DOT and TRAI is sorted out.

Whether this is for 4G or as per supreme court direction after cancellation of earlier auction. Whether BSNL is to participate or not.
Dear Comrade, The auction is for the 2G spectrum, which has become available after the Supreme Court decision cancelling the licences as also the 2G spectrum which will be freed after the period of licences of the companies are over. BSNL may not be participating since neither its spectrum is cancelled nor its licence period for spectrum is over. Kindly give your address also while putting the question/ comment.
