Some tainted and ineffective ministers are being changed today to give a better face to the government, as per the media reports. S.M.Krishna, External minister and some others are being sent out. But will this give a better face to the government?
The answer is an emphatic NO! Many of the present ministers are involved in mega scams, but they have not been asked to resign or shunted out. The government is not prepared to make any enquiry against them. CBI is being made to act according to the requirement of the ruling party and the saying the it is ” Congress Bureau of Investigation” seems to have some meaning.
It is clear that the present change will not clear the image of the government. Many of the tainted ministers are still in important positions. The Prime Minister himself is in the shadow of corruption.
I agree with you that the change of Ministers in the Union Cabinet will not improve the image of the Manmohan Singh government. The HINDU to-day published an explosive news that since S Jaipal Reddy (Union Petrileum Minister) has long been resisting Mukesh Ambani over gas prices and other issues and at the same time defending public interest and exchequer,PM would remove him from the Petroleum ministry.
This has exactly happened in to-day’s Cabinet re-shuffle. When the PM himself sacrifices such a minister to appease the corporate giants, what good can the common people expect from his government any more?
Your point is very correct. In fact, it is only because to appease the Reliance that Jaipal Reddy has been shifted and Veerappa Moily brought to the ministry to help the private cmpanies including Reliance.
