It is unfortunate that the Maruti Management has not learnt any lessons from the earlier strikes of the workers. Instead of discussing and settling issues with the workers union, the management seems to be again and again victimising and provoking the workers.
In the scuffle between the management officers and workers yesterday one life has been lost and a large number of officers and workers are hospitalised. It is reported that the scuffle took place after one of the officers made casteist remarks against a worker.
A high level enquiry should be conducted so that such ugly happenings should be avoided.
“management seems to be again and again victimizing and provoking the workers.”
Friend, the management was victimized, first a supervisor was beaten up by a worker, after an alleged remark against the worker, after which the worker was naturally suspended. It was due to the suspension that everything started.
Then again the victims of the violence were mostly the management(who had been hospitalized) and a manager BURNT ALIVE.
It is very disappointing that even after such an incident you are not expressing sorrow for the HR manager and instead blaming the HR policies.
There is no doubt that what has happened should not have happened. The loss of life for any reason is unfortunate and require sympathy and sorrow. But the reports indicate that the workers were provoked and both workers and management personnel are in hospital. The management is powerful and always in such cases the workers will be made the accused due to the power, money and influence of the management. This has been seen many times in the past in the same factory itself. The same management has completely refused the recognition of the union of the vast majority of the workers and victimised them for forming the union.
