The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has installed facility for EPF subscribers to view their account particulars through SMS. The EPF subscribers have to submit their accounts and mobile numbers for getting information of their account balance by SMS.
Central PF Commissioner has stated that this facility is started in 7 centres in Delhi and nearby places. It is also stated that within a week all the EPF offices in the country will be brought in to the new facility.

Tens of thousands of public servants including teachers went on oneday strike against the proposed reforms and austerity measures being implemented by the UK government.The government is proposing to curb the public sectior pension also. It is estimated that more than 7,50,000 workers participated in the protest rallies.
UK is going to be a battle ground between the workers and the government.

The proposed strike of the 10 lakh bank employees on 7th July has been postponed to 5th August 2011. The postponement is to ensure that the strike is organised during the period when the Parliament is in session so that the issue could be raised in the Parliament. The bank workers are going on strike to protest against the banking reforms, ousourcing etc. and for compassionate appointments, pension scheme etc. If the issues are not settled, the unions may resort to even Indefinite strike

On the 90th Anniversary of the formation of the Communist Party of China, my red salutes to the valiant comrades who led the Chinese revolution and within a short time, has led China from a very poor country to the second highest economy in the world, only next to USA. And it is also stated by experts that China may surpass USA within one or two decades. Wonderful!
Communist Party of China was formed on 1st July 1921 in the First National Congress which was participated by thirteen delegates including Comrade Mao Zedong. Now the CPC have more than 80 million members.
China like India has a great civilisation going back to more than 5000 years. It had close links with India later. China fought and got independence under the leadership of the CPC which led the Red Liberation Army. But even after independence China had to go through many hurdles and tribulations.
And China has come up to be the second economy in the world.
Once again my Red Salutes to the Communist Party of China!

The beloved POst Card has completed long 132 years. Even after all the latest communications like mobiles, fax, Internet etc. have arrived, the poor people in our country still depend upon the Posts for their communications. And the Post Card is the cheapest. There is no need for paper or separate stamp for the Post Card. With 50 paise Post card you can communicate in few worde what you want to convey to your friend or relative.
I do not know what was the price of the Post Card when it was first introduced on 1st July 1979. It might have been very less. Even after a century it is only 50 paise. The Department of Posts is incurring heavy loss on each card that is purchased and posted. But still it can not stop it because it is the committment to the poor people.
I remember two top political leaders of the country at this juncture ; Comrades EMS Namboodiripad and C.Achutha Menon, both former Chief Ministers of Kerala and leaders of the CPI(M) and CPI respectively. I had the opportunity to write them letters on some issue which I do not remember now. But within four-five days, I got reply from both. In their own handwriting, they have replied in Post Card. It was a great lesson for me in many ways.
Let the Post Card continue with its lowest prices for the poor people of this great country.
