It is great News! Orders have been issued by DOT today, 15th March, on the Pension Revision of pre-2007 BSNL retirees, for which we have been waiting for some time. This will benefit a large number of BSNL officials who retired before 01-01-2007.

BSNL Employees Union as also All India BSNL-DOT Pensioners Association (AIBDPA) has been on sustained struggle and discussion with the BSNL, DOT, Minister and the Central Government on this issue for a very long time. Government was taking the stand that since there was no agreement on Pension Revision at the time of the formation of BSNL, the same can not be agreed to. It was on the 2010 April 20th Strike discussion that the Communications Minister agreed to the Joint Action Committee that the Pension Revision of pre-2007 BSNL retirees will be taken with the cabinet for approval. The time limit given was four months, but it prolonged for more months. Again the demand was raised in the 1-2 December 2010 strike and the DOT agreed to expedite the matter.

Even after approval by he Cabinet, there was delay in issue of orders and JAC, BSNLEU and AIBDPA continuously pressurised for issue of orders. AIBDPA called for lunch demonstrations and implemented the same effectively with full Participation of BSNLU. Even yesterday I met the Member (Services ), who assured that the orders will be issued expeditiously. And today, the orders are issued.

I congratulate all for this great achievement which will benefit all those BSNL absorbed DOT officials, including executives, at the time future wage revisions also. Orders put on http://www.bsnleuchq.com
