There are a large number of memorabilia belonging to India is in the British Museum and other museums in Britain. There are thousands of historically valuable artefacts in castles and royal houses also. These are not purchased by them from India, but have been taken forcibly or stolen from India, when it was under the British imperialist rule. It was loot and more loot.
For example take the memorabilia connected with Tippu Sultan. His armour, sword, dresses and many other items are exhibited in the British Museum just like the trophies of a victor from the vanquished. The British rulers demolished the Srirangapatam Fort and other buildings connected with Tippu and took whatever can be looted and shipped to Britain.
Now the India is free for the last more than sixty years what justification Britain has got to deny these memorabilia to India? Just like Italy has demanded for the return of Mona Lisa painting from Louvre Museum in France to Florence Museum in Italy, India has to demand Britain for return of our historical articles, artefacts and memorabilia. There should not be any delay in the matter.
