It is reported by Gee Whis website that there will be Supermoon or Perigee on 19th March 2011. Supermoon means that the moon will be passing through very near to the earth. On 19th March it will pass through a distance of only 2,21,567 miles from earth. It is also reported that this is the nearest in the last twenty years. Supermoon was there in 1955, 1974 and 2005.

There is a belief that Supermoon will cause earthquake, storm etc. but it is not scientifically established. However, there is every chance that the tide may rise.
