The government has now decided that there will be monthly increases in the price of diesel. This was stated by Veerappa Moily, central Minister. Every month the price will be hiked by 40-50 paise, till all the subsidies are taken away.
The government is in an aggressive mode to wipe out the subsidies to the poor and the common man. But in the case of subsidies to the rich and corporates there is no wiping out. Whether it is for relaxing conditions for FDI, acquiring land for MNCs, the government is too willing to subsidise every thing. The government has become the government of the rich and not the comman man.
