Kerala, Malayalam, mandatory

The decision of the Kerala government making Malayalam, the official language, compulsory in the schools is a good decision. It gives more respect to the language, provide a chance to children to learn and understand their mother tongue and a lift for the Malayalam culture itself. Congratulations to the Kerala LDF government!

Gold, Kerala, Liquor

Kerala is far ahead of other states in many respects, including literacy, electrification, labour wages, work culture, own home, secular concept etc. etc. These are all welcome and are appreciated world over.

But there are two other issues, in which also, Kerala seems to be in the forefront –  craze for gold and liquor.  This craze needs to be controlled in a progressive state  like Kerala.

Kerala, profitable, Travancore Cochin Chemicals

For the first time after many years, a Kerala Public Sector Unit,  Travancore Cochin Chemicals (TCC), has posted profit.  While the loss last year was Rs. 7.37 crore, during the LDF period the company has turned profitable and posted a profit of Rs. 5.5 crore. This is despite the increase in the wages of the workers. The production has also increased.

It is one more PSU which has become profitable after the LDF has come in to power.

Out of the 1,33,409 applications, 1.25 connections are already provided and the balance will be provided before the end of this month.

Kerala was declared fully literate years back. Now, the electricity is fully provided. During the LDF rule maximum development is taking place.

Kerala, LDF, School Books

During the UDF government in Kerala, there were always complaints that school text books were not supplied in time. Sometimes, they were supplied almost at the end of the school year only.

The LDF Government with Com. Pinarayi Vijayan as Chief Minister has acted fast. Even before the school year starts in June, the books have been printed and is being supplied to the schools. Out of the 2.60crore books required, 1.80 crores have been printed and 1.60 crores despatched to the concerned schools. It has been assured by the education minister Com.C.Ravindranath that the balance number of books will be printed and supplied before the next school year starts.

Congratulations to the Government for the good work!

Kerala LDF Government to revitalise the PSUs

Kerala, LDF, PSUs, UDF

The people of Kerala have the experience that during the LDF government, the PSUs will improve and become profitable, while during the UDF rule they will become ineffective and loss making. During the last UDF rule, out of the total 46 PSUs, only 10 were profitable. When the last LDF left 18 PSUs were profitable.

Now the Kerala Government has stated that it will make all out efforts to strengthen the PSUs. The work has already started. There is no doubt that many of the PSUs will be improved and made financially viable during the present regime.

State PSUs will protected and strengthened – Kerala Chief Minister

Kerala, LDF, NDA, PSUs, UPA

During his speech at Kozhikode Tagore Centenary Hall on 12th June 2016 when he was given a grand reception, Com.Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister, Kerala stated that the state PSUs will be protected and strengthened. This is a very welcome assurance.

During the UDF rule, almost all the state public sector units have been weakened and made loss making. It is to be remembered that all these PSUs were strong and profit making during the period of the LDF government. Once again these PSUs are going to be revived.

Both the UPA Government as well as the NDA government at the centre have been systematically selling, closing and disinvesting the central PSUs during the past twenty years or so. They have become the promoters of the private sector and the corporates. The present position of the ITI, HMT and other such famed PSUs are well known to all.

The difference of attitude between the NDA/UPA at Centre and the LDF in Kerala towards the PSUs is well understood by the workers. While appreciating the correct stand of the Kerala LDF government, the working class have to fight and defeat the anti-PSU policies of the NDA government at the centre.

Chief Minister, Efficiency, Kerala

Com. Pinarayi Vijayan, the new Chief Minister of Kerala, in his meeting with the employees of the state Secretariat has sought their support for serving the public in an efficient way with a human face. He reminded the staff that the employees are for the functioning of the government and not vice-versa. Prompt attendance, clearing the files early, avoiding corrupt practices – his speech included all these.

It is a good beginning. The government and its employees are for serving the public interest and this has been clearly focussed by the Chief Minister.

A joint, determined effort to have an efficient service to the people is the top most priority.
