There are more than 10 lakh unfilled vacancies in Railways, Posts and in other central government, central PSUs like Banks etc. On the other hand, crores of unemployed youth are wandering without getting any jobs. Central government is extending tax relief etc. of lakhs of crores of rupees to the big corporates, but is not prepared to give jobs to the unemployed. The resistance against the anti-worker policy of the Modi Government has got to be strengthened.

For the last one week, the covid spread all over India is more than one and half lakh almost every day. The death rate has also increased. The second covid spread is more dangerous according to health authorities.

Utmost care is required by all to reduce the covid spread. The covid protocol announced by the government has to be strictly followed. Elders are at more risk. May had taken vaccination, but still there are many who have not taken. Governments have to ensure sufficient supply as also arrangements for the vaccination. We will fight this pandemic with all sincerity.

Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, is one of the greatest Indians, whose field of activities include law, economy, politics as also social reforms. He is also the architect of the Constitution of India. His life was dedicated to the upliftment of the dalits and the untouchables. He was born on 14th April 1891 and passed away on 6th December 1956.

14th April 2021 is the 130th birth anniversary of the great reformer. Our respectful homage to Dr. Ambedkar on his 130th Birth Anniversary !

During the last few days, the spread of Covid in India is going higher and higher. Today the new positive cases have crossed 1.5 lakhs, the highest so far. In positive cases, India is at the second top.

Maximum care is required. Tests as also vaccination need to be increased. Covid protocol has to be maintained.

The government has allotted 4G Spectrum to BSNL. After much pressure it has also allowed participation of foreign companies for providing 4G infrastructure by BSNL as by private companies, ending the discrimination to BSNL. Is one year necessary to float the tender and finalise it? The issue should be taken with utmost seriousness and urgency by the management without any delay as 4G service is vital to the growth of the company.

IDA to get reduced by 1.1% w.e.f. 01st April, 2021.

As per the latest Consumer Price Index, released by the Labour Bureau yesterday, the 31^st March, 2021, IDA rate is to get reduced by 1.1%, w.e.f. 01^st April, 2021. Accordingly, the 171.5% IDA that has become due from 01.01.2021, will get reduced to 170.4%, w.e.f. 01.04.2021. Hence, the quantum of IDA increase, that remains to be paid to the Non-Executives of BSNL is 10.5%. The CHQ of BSNLEU is pressurising the BSNL Management to take steps to pay this IDA increase at the earliest. BSNL Management has referred the matter to the DoT. (BSNLEU Website)

Contract labours are workers who maintain their families with the meagre wages they are getting. Even delay of one month in payment puts them in much difficulty and hardship. Now, they have not been paid wages for months. As per reply in the Parliament, there is no loss for BSNL. More than Rs. 8000 crore are saved yearly on wages due to retrenchment of about 80,000 employees through VRS. Then why not pay the arrears of wages?

BSNLCCWF has demanded the BSNL management to pay the wage arrears at the earliest.

It is understood that BSNL is moving for monetizing its land assets in many circles. It is advisable that a committee be formed including members from the recognised unions so that which assets can be monetised, which are not to be monetised, what should be the criteria of assessing the value etc. can be discussed so that important and useful assets to BSNL are not monetised and real value is ensured for the assets. These committees can be formed at circle levels so that the actual market rate etc. can be found out correctly.

There are many corporate hawks waiting to grab these assets for a song with the covert and overt support of the government in power. A joint committee of recognised unions and administration will ensure maximum price for the assets which can be monetised.

RECEPTION COMMITTEE OF 3RD AIC DONATED Rs.2 LAKH TO CHQ.

West Bengal comrades, the Circle Branches of Kolkata Telephones, West Bangal, Telecom Factory & Stores, Kolkata and our strong affiliate, CORTO took up the responsibility of holding the 3rd triennial All India Conference at Kolkata braving the peculiar, rather adverse conditions prevailed in West Bengal. There were serious concerns about the successfull conduct of the conference and the Reception Committee faced certain challenges in the form of denial of accommodation in the last minute. However, our comrades rose to the occasion and overcame all these challenges and made the AIC a historic success.

Now, the Reception Committee has finalised the accounts and has donated Rs. 2,00,000 to the CHQ from the surplus on 29-03-2021. CHQ heartily congratulates and thanks the Reception Committee for completing the accounts and donating Rs.2 lakh to CHQ. (AIBDPA website)
