Homage to Com.Andiappan

It was with shock and deep grief that I heard about the sad news of the death of Com.Andiappan, General Secretary of FNTBEA. It was known that he was not well, but this was unexpected. He was a senior and sincere leader of BSNL employees and was part of the FORUM. He was also part of the United  Forum.
My Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends!

International Airport is a small world itself

Sitting in the Delhi International Airport and waiting for one’s flight is an experience. You can see people from all nationalties, dressed in many attires, young and old, men women and children, smiling and grim, all of them moving towards their boarding gates. Hotels, restaurents, bookstalls, massage parlour, smoking rooms, liquor shops, textiles, dresses, watches, suit cases and what not?
Yes, it is a world itself, a meeting place of people of many countries.

Waterlogging in cities

Mumbai was waterlogged two weeks back completely paralysing the city. Yesterday it was Delhi which was similarly affected. Tomorrow it can be Kolkatta or Chennai.
Monsoon is a regular occurance. What the governments are doing to deal with the situation, when there are heavy rains? They are responsible to the people.

Today is World Population Day. As per National Population Stabilisation Fund of the Union Health Ministry, the population of India was  127,42,39,769 at 17.00 hours today, 11th July 2015. This is 17.25% of the World Population. China continues to be the first with 139 crores, but by 2050, India is expected to be the number one country in population with an estimated population of 163 crores.

The number of people are increasing. The number of poor, jobless are also increasing. On the other hand, the crorepatis are also increasing. The poor becomes poorer, the rich, richer.  This increased differences are part of the capitalist policy being implemented by the Government of India.
