Comrade Desraj Sharma, former General Secretary of P-IV Union and Dy. Secretary General of NFPE, who passed away on 24th September 2016 was cremated today at the Nigambodh Ghat, Delhi in the presence of a large number of relatives and comrades. Earlier, Com. Prakash Karat, PBM CPI(M) along with Coms. V.A.N.Namboodiri and K.G.Jayaraj paid last respects to the deceased at his residence.

On behalf of NFPE etc. wreaths were placed. On behalf of BSNLEU and AIBDPA, red shawl was placed. Coms. V.A.N.Namboodiri and K.G.Jayaraj along with comrades including Com. Diwas, former GS P.IV, were there at the cremation.

Com.Desraj was a close disciple and companion of Com.K.Adinarayana, former Secretary General of NFPE and legendary leader of the P and T Employees. Even after retirement in 2007, Com. Desraj continued to take active interest in the union activities.

I had close association with Com. Desraj for about 40 years, especially after I shifted to Delhi in 1991. In the fight against revisionist leaders in the P and T movement, he had contributed in a good way.

His death is a big loss to the P and T trade union movement. I pay my last respects and convey my heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and friends!

Harkishan Singh Surjeet

surjeet

It is 8 years since Com. Harkishan Singh Surjeet, former General Secretary of CPI(M) and freedom fighter, passed away on 1st August 2008. He was in the forefront of the freedom struggle from his student days and had to face imprisonment many times.

The Central Government employees will remember him specially, since  his pressure on the then Central government, which was supported by the Left Parties, made the government to grant 40% fitment instead of 20%, which the V CPC has recommended.

He was always there to guide and advice the telecom employees movement and his support during the trying period of 1991-2000 when democracy was being butchered by the P&T administration and the reformist leadership of NFTE.

Our Red Salute to Com. Surjeet on his 8th death anniversary!

Red Salute to Com. K.G.Bose!

KG Bose

7th July 2019 is the 98th birth anniversary of the great revolutionary leader Com.K.G.Bose. He was born in 1921 and passed away at the comparatively  young age of 54, on 11-12-1974.

Com.K.G. Bose is the inspiration of thousands and thousands of Central employees and in particular that of P and T employees. He fought with the government for the rights of the workers and also fought against the revisionism in the organisation. His life and work is a saga of struggle, sacrifice and achievement.

I fondly remember the many times when I got the opportunity to be with him in the Conferences, in tours and in discussions. He was simple and friendly to all.

On his birth anniversary, I pay respectful homage! Red Salute  to Com.K.G.Bose!
