Don’t Privatise Public Sector Companies, Central Trade Unions.

New Delhi, Nov 19 : Condemning the centre’s move to hand over DVC Thermal Plant to a private sector company, Central Trade Unions today said that government should “desist” from giving PSUs and public funds to private sector for promoting “private gains”.

Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) alleged that the move was a “virtual” gift of a newly constructed Public Sector Power Plant to private Sector by “frittering” away public funds for private interest and demanded that such a move to should be taken back.

“CITU deplores such move and demands that the decision taken by the DVC Board at the direction of Government of India must be reversed and the Power Plant must remain in the Public Sector under DVC.

“CITU also demands that the government must desist from such handing over of public sector units and public funds to private sector for promoting private gains,” it said in a statement.

CITU said that the Central Public Sector Undertaking (DVC) has set up a thermal power plant in the district of Purulia, West Bengal — Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station.

The first unit of this thermal power plant whose capacity is 600 MW has already been commissioned. Construction of the second phase of this project has already started whose capacity will be 1200 MW.

DVC has already spent more than Rs 6,000 crores for the construction of the first phase of the project and 900 acres of land was acquired by the state government and handed over to the DVC for the construction of the Power Plant.

“The Central Government has now decided to hand over the Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station to the private sector Tata Power. This is nothing, but virtual gift of a newly constructed Public Sector Power Plant to private Sector by frittering away public funds for private interest,” the statement said.

The Central Trade Unions also questioned that when DVC has the capacity and capability to run this unit why it is being handed over to Tata?

“The land was acquired for DVC’s project and not for the Tata. The decision to hand over the Public Sector Unit to a private sector company is in accordance with the policy of the present government,” it said. (PTI)

DLF, haryana, Robert Vadra

Robert Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi and the Gandhi family itself in real trouble. The CAG in his draft report has stated that in the land deal transactions with DLF and connected sale, Robert Vadra has got Rs. 43.66 crore. As per the agreement, his profit should be only Rs. 2.15 Crore and the balance is to be remitted to the government. But he did not do so. Hence the government has lost Rs. 41.51 crore in the deal and Vadra made the windfall gain.

The IAS officer Khemka was charge sheeted by the Haryana Government for raising this issue with the government. One of the reasons for the utter defeat of Congress in the recent assembly election in Haryana is the above suspected deal. The New Haryana BJP government has stated that the government will enquire in the matter.

One more trouble for the Congress and the First Family.

SC, Unaccounted money holders

After the severe rap by the Supreme Court against the Government yesterday in not intimating the names of the account holders in foreign banks, the Attorney General submitted names of 627 account holders to the supreme court in a sealed cover today.

This new development is good. Now it is for the Supreme Court to decide whether to release the same or not. Now the government can not hold back the names any further.

Black Money in Swiss banks being converted to Gold and smuggled ?

Reports have come in the media that the statement of the Government that names of holders of black money accounts in Swiss and other foreign banks will be made public after filing charge sheets seems to have created some panic to the involved account holders. The Swiss Banks are also worried, since any such exposure would harm them.

As per reports, the Swiss Banks are advising their clients to close such accounts or to divert the money from the banks. Another method is by purchasing gold and smuggling to India. It seems that the second option is already being implemented. The yellow metal worth more than Rs. 70,000 crore has already left for India, according to Swiss authorities. The catching of gold biscuits in kilos in many airports in India is an indication of the same.

Whether the Government is watching and taking necessary action to curb the smuggling as also the unaccounted money account holders? Or whether the government will succumb to the high decibel pressures of the corrupt politicians (both Congress and BJP) and the big business houses? Let us wait and see.

BJP Government, black money

BJP Government is under great pressure to release the names of persons who have put black money in foreign accounts. The party which accused the UPA government for not releasing the names are now finding justifications for not releasing the names after coming in to power. There is severe criticism from many quarters on this round about turn.

Now it is Ram Jet Malani, the Senior Supreme Court Advocate who has demanded for release of the list and criticised BJP for not releasing.

As per the election promise, BJP Government should release the name to the public. Otherwise they are breaking and dishonoring their assurances to the people.

Issue White Paper on Black Money, Name the people who hoarded black money – CPI(M)

New Delhi, Oct 22 : CPI(M) today demanded the issuance of a White Paper detailing the amounts of illegal money stashed away abroad and those involved, saying just naming some individuals would not serve any purpose.
Accusing the Narendra Modi government of “going back” on its poll promise of bringing back black money in foreign banks, senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said, “Now the government is saying that through affidavits, it would name some people. But naming some people has already been done in the past and that does not serve any purpose.”
All accounts held by Indians abroad would have to be examined “whether they are legal or illegal and, on that basis, a White Paper has to be prepared on the amount of black money that has been stashed abroad and by whom,” he said.
He was reacting to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement that the government would inform the courts about names of some who hold black money in foreign accounts.
“This is what they had promised in the elections and are now going back on it,” the CPI(M) leader said, adding that the government was taking the earlier UPA-II government’s line that international agreements, including the double taxation avoidance treaty with Switzerland, would be breached.
“All through the election campaign, Modi and BJP have been continuously harping on the issue and accusing Congress of protecting those who stashed away huge amounts in various havens, majority of them in Swiss banks, and promising to unearth them. Now they are going back on it,” Yechury said. Terming as “toally unwarranted” Jaitley’s statement that the names to be given to the courts would embarrass Congress, CPI leader D Raja said the BJP government should come out with details of what steps it was taking to bring the money back.
“This unaccounted money illegally stashed away abroad genuinely belongs to the people. The government should show political will to bring it back and not try to score brownie points,” he said.
Whether the names would “embarrass Congress or BJP is not the issue. The issue is who all are in possession of black money. Come forward with the names, D.Raja said.

An RTI has revealed that the Congress has been granted Income Tax relief for Rs. 743.75 crore in 2012-14. For the same period BJP was granted Rs. 338.95 crore tax relief.

The ruling political parties in India are amassing wealth in a grand way. These are the accounted money. What about the unaccounted money being collected during elections and other times? What about the black money ?

The people have a right to know.

First Family or Family First ? – The Collapse of Congress

20 Monday Oct 2014

collapse, Congress

The First family has failed again. In Maharashtra and Haryana, where elections have been held, the Congress, which was the ruling party has been relegated to a poor third!

Years of anti-poor policies, favouring the corporates, Himalayan Corruptions, belief in the infallibility of first family, poor governance and what not ? The party which led the struggle for freedom and which ruled the country for about six decades has almost lost relevance in the larger politics of India. The First Family always considered the Family and its cahoots forst and not the country and its progress.

A deserving punishment indeed!

SC Cancels 214 out of 218 Coal Block Allocations since 1993

The SC has given the judgement. 214 coal block allocations out of 218 since 1993 has been cancelled by the Supreme Court today. It has now become very clear that both the NDA as well UPA have been party to the irregular allocations of coal blocks to the private companies causing lakhs of crores of rupees. The report of the CAG has been vindicated.

Since both the BJP and the Congress are involved as also the big corporates, there will be great pressure on the government for a compromise. Any such leniency to the corrupt politicians and corporates will not be accepted by the people. Those who have cheated the people should be taken to task.

Cash for seats – now it is the former Karnataka Chief Minister

Cash for seat, corruption, Kumaraswamy

One other cash-for-seats scam has been revealed. Former Karnataka Chief Minister Shri HD Kumaraswamy JD(U) is shown in a video agreeing for Rs. 20 crore to give a seat in the Upper House to an applicant.
The interesting factor is that the former Chief Minister is not denying the video, but is justifying that by telling that Congress, BJP, every body is doing the same.
The Indian politicians have gone down the drain to the lowest stage.
