Com. Harkishan Singh Surjeet ( 23.03.1916- 01.08.2008).

1st August 2025 is the 17th death anniversary of Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet, who was the General Secretary of CPI(M) for the period from 1992 to 2005. He was one of the founder leaders of CPI(M), PB Member since 1964. He was a militant freedom fighter and was in jail for 10 years and in underground for 12 years.

While in Delhi during the period since 1991, I had the opportunity to meet him several times in connection with the issues of the workers and unions. His strong intervention in increasing the % of fitment for CG employees while implementing V Central Pay Commission, against corporatisation of telecom, recognition of union etc are well known. He was always available to you, even when busy with party affairs.

We pay our respectful homage to Com. Surjeet on his 17th death anniversary.
