It has been 10 years since Comrade S. K. Vyas, the indomitable fighter for the cause of the CG Employees and Pensioners, passed away.
Since 1968 when he took up the reins of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers as its Secretary General and as the Secretary General of the National Coordination Committee of Pensioners Association since its formation, Com. Vyasji was the undisputed leader till his death.
His capacity in understanding the issues of the workers and presenting them before the government and compelling them to concede them was extraordinary. Soft spoken and gentle Vyasji was a fighter to the core.
My acquaintance with him started since 1968. After my shifting to Delhi in 1991, the contact became almost daily.
Even when we went to Jaipur to meet him where he was hospitalised, he was enquiring about certain issues. He breathed his last after two or three days.
Respectful homage to Comrade Vyasji on his 10th death anniversary which falls on 13th February 2025.
