OROP gets delayed

The implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) for retired defence personnel may be delayed further. The Committee formed with Justice (Retd) Narasimha Reddy as the Chairman to look in to the matter was to submit its report on 14 June 2016. But the government has extended its term for six months more, which means that they have time up to 14th December 2016. The delay could have been avoided, since large number of the defence retirees are eagerly waiting for the decision for years together.

The government has also not taken decision on the recommendations of the VII Central Pay Commission with regard to similar pension for the civilian employees.

On the one side the government calls for quick governance, but its own actions are delay in decision making.

PPF can withdraw after 5 years

The central government has decided to allow withdrawals/closure after 5 years from the Public Provident Fund (PPF). Earlier it was only after 7 years. The closure can be made for treatment or for children’s education.

The government has retained the interest for the current quarter at 8.1%. In the case of closure, the interest will be reduced by 1%.

Respected Sir/Madam,

Sub: Non-settlement of genuine demands of the Central Government Employees

More than 32 lakh Central Government Employees working in various ministries of the Government of India. including Railways, Postal, Defence (Ordinance Factory and other Civilian Employees), Central Secretariat, Income Tax, Audit & Accounts and other employees of the government departments are aggrieved since long on non-settlement of their various demands.

The report Of the Vll CPC has further made them aggrieved because of the retrograde recommendations, including non-scientific calculation of Minimum Wage and Fitment Formula. The issue of National Pension Scheme(NPS) had been very heartburning for more than 1.1 million young Central Government Employees who have been deprived from the Defined Pension/Family Pension and we are agitating this issue with the Central Government since its inception.

Under the above compelled circumstances, the National Joint Council of Action has taken a decision to go on “‘Indefinite Strike” from 06:00 a.m. on 11th July. 2016

The Central Government Employees of this country have always stood for the development and good governance of the country. but do feel de-motivated because of the inaction on their pending demands. we do have written to Hon’ble Prime Minister of India vide letter No.NC/JCW2016/CS/PM dated 14.06.2016 (copy enclosed for ready reference) the request that. the government should immediately come forward for negotiated settlement with the NC/JCM on the demands of the Central Government Employees to avoid unnecessary confrontation.
We earnestly hope that. you will kindly lay your hands and support us in our struggle as well as put pressure on the Government of India far resolution of our genuine demands at an earliest

78.2% IDA Pension Fixation – Cabinet Note submitted

Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor, AIBDPA today went to Sanchar Bhawan and met top officers including Member (Finance) and enquired about the status of the Cabinet Note on 78.2% IDA Pension fixation for BSNL pre-2013 pensioners. Authentic information was received from the officers and the concerned Pension Section of the Estt. Branch that the Cabinet Note has been submitted duly approved by the Secretary DOT on 17th June 2016.

100% FDI in Defence, FDI increase in all sectors – Protest by Opposition Parties

It is a ‘monsoon’of FDI announced by the Government of India. Against all earlier guidelines, 100% FDI has been announced in the strategic defence sector.This will give free hand to the private defence companies to take over the Indian defence production.

The FDI in Civil Aviation, Single Brand Retail, Pharma and certain other sectors have been increased including up to 100%.

India has now become the playground for the MNCs, foreign banks and financial institutions. The national security concerns are ignored.

The opposition parties including Congress and Left parties have strongly opposed the new increase in FDI.

Kerala LDF Government to revitalise the PSUs

The people of Kerala have the experience that during the LDF government, the PSUs will improve and become profitable, while during the UDF rule they will become ineffective and loss making. During the last UDF rule, out of the total 46 PSUs, only 10 were profitable. When the last LDF left 18 PSUs were profitable.

Now the Kerala Government has stated that it will make all out efforts to strengthen the PSUs. The work has already started. There is no doubt that many of the PSUs will be improved and made financially viable during the present regime.

National JCM writes to Prime Minister on Strike issues

Secretary, National Council JCM, Com. Shiv Gopal Mishra has written to the Prime Minister on 14-06-2016 to intervene on the issues of the strike notice issued by the Central Government employees. The National Joint Council of Action has given notice for Indefinite Strike from 11th July 2016 in which 33 lakhs of CG Employees including railway employees are going to participate.

The Prime Minister should look in to the genuine demands of the CG employees and ensure that they are settled thus not compelling the workers to go on indefinite strike.

Full Pension if 10 years service completed – Clarification by Government.

One more Good News! The government vide its orders dated 13-05-2016 has issued clarification stating that all those who have completed 10 years of service are eligible for full pension. A doubt was raised whether 20 years is necessary for full pension. the present orders clear the doubt. Now all those completed 10 years of service will get full pension.
