15 BSNLEU and SNEA leaders in Kerala, including the Circle Secretary of BSNLEU and District Secretary of SNEA have been suspended  by  orders of the arrogant and anti-worker CGM MSS Rao.(The names of all the 15 comrades suspended have been posted in this blog earlier). Expressing strong protest against the victimisation of the union leaders and demanding the transfer of the CGM, it has been decided to hold lunch hour demonstrations at Corporate office as also at Circle level on 14th September. The demonstrations are to be organised jointly by BSNLEU, SNEA and BSNLCCWF which are jointly fighting in Kerala against the CGM and the victimisation. Make the protest action massive and successful.

All India leaders of these unions will start Hunger Strike in front of Corporate office on 17th September on the same same demands, if the issues are not settled by then.

Netaji Files – Central Government still not ready to declassify

declassification, Netaji files

Despite the decision of the W.Bengal Government to release the 64 files connected with Subhash Chandra Bose, the Central Government is keeping mum with regards to its own Netaji files which are much more than the states government’s. The plea that releasing the files will have problems with foreign countries does not stand reason, after the elapse of about seven decades. The people have a right to know what secrets are in the files.

CG Pensioners, OROP

The Staff Side of the National Council, Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM), has demanded the government and the VII Central Pay Commission that the One Rank One Pension announced for the military pensioners should also be implemented for the Central Government pensioners.

Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary, Staff Side has written letters on this point to the Chairman VII CPC, Justice A.K.Mathur. OROP was existing for High Court and Supreme Court Judges as also for CAG earlier. Now it is extended to defence service retirees.

The demand of the Staff Side is fully justified and should be granted. There is no justification not to extend the OROP to the CG Pensioners.

dismal, Literacy in India - rural

It is a hard fact – One third of rural population in India are illiterate even after almost seven decades of Independence. This is the report of the Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011. Rajasthan has got maximum illiteracy in rural area reaching up to 64%. It is a shame on the government of India and state governments that such a sad situation prevails.

This situation has to be changed. In addition to the central/state governments, the people have to take initiative to improve the literacy.

W.Bengal Government to release Subhas Chandra Bose files

Files, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that she will release all the files connected with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose which are with the state government by next Friday. The Central Government has been continuously refusing to release the Netaji files which are with them all these years. After the release of the files with the by the W.Bengal government, the Central Government will be under compulsion to release their files.

The secrecy and mystery behind the plane accident and consequent death of Subhas Chandra Bose on the one side and on the side that it was a fake story and Netaji lived for years in Faizabad as a saint named Gumnami Baba are still unsolved. Gumnami Baba died on 16th September 1985.

There have been continuous demands to release the secret files on Subhas Chandra Bose for a long time, but the central government stoutly refused. A lot of information will certainly be known after the release of the W.Bengal Netaji files. But more files are with central government.

The people have got a right to know what happened to one of the great leaders of the Independence movement, who even formed the Indian National Army(INA) to fight  the British for the Independence of India.
