The Parliamentary Standing Committee which inspected the Taj Mahal has found that the White marble Taj Mahal is gradually turning in to yellow and that black spots are seen in the four towers surrounding it.

There is no doubt about. I remember seeing the Taj Mahal for the first time in 1966, if I remember correct. It was when returning from the All India Conference held at Lucknow. I had seen the Tajmahal one year back also. The difference was clear. The white colour of the marble has changed towards yellow. There were a lot of water in the Jamuna. Now it is only like a dirty water stagnant-pool.

The Parliamentary Committee stated that it will recommend immediate necessary action to restore the Taj Mahal. The carbon remission has to be reduced, experts have to be put in charge etc.

It is necessary that the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world and a heritage centre has to be saved. The Central and State Governments should take immediate action.
