What any person will do when his house is on fire, the family members are in danger and all the belongings are going to be burnt to ashes?
Of course, he will fight with all his strength to stop the fire. He will douse water, through mud and dust, seek the help of his neighbours, call the fire service and make all out efforts to save his family and belongings.
Well. Now the BSNL is on fire. It is gradually becoming sick, since it is on loss for the last 4-5 years. What are we going to do? Simply watch the destruction and privatisation or fight with all our might at our disposal? There is no doubt comrade. The entire workforce have to rise up like one man and fight the destruction of BSNL being engineered by the Government. More important is that Himalayan effort to be made by the workers to improve services, provide cordial services and approach the people for support. This is not limited to doing one’s duty, but something more proactive and extra efforts.
BSNL Workers have shown in the past that they are capable of fighting and achieving their demands on pay, promotion, pension etc. They have stopped disinvestment and VRS, despite governnment decisions to the contrary.
