It is reported in the press that ‘khadi’ name is patented in Germany and Indian ‘khadi’ is in difficulty. Earlier India faced the same trouble with ‘Basmati’ rice which also was patented in a foreign country. The Intellectual Property Rights are being much misused. The Government of India has to take immediate remedial measures.
