Former Finance Minister P.Chidambaram, in an interview to media has stated that a non-Gandhi can become President of Congress. There is no reaction from the Congress President or any body in the Congress. If Chidambaram has stated this before the General elections, where Congress was almost routed, he should have probably been out of Congress or at least isolated.

Is it because democracy is coming to the Congress? Of course No. But the High Command has lost all authority and is afraid of further down fall. Otherwise, however mighty be the person, a criticism of the Nehru family would have seen his ouster. Family is now unable to defend itself from attack from within.
