The latest report of the United Nations – Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific has stated that there has been an increase in the income inequality in major economies in recent decades. And India is one of these.

In India the inequality between rich and the poor increased from 30.8 to 33.9 during the decade 1990 to 2000.

All of us know this from our daily experience. The fact is there. How to change it is the question. The neo-liberal policies will only increase the gap.
