Com. Benoy Konar, senior leader of CPI(M) passed away on 14 September. He was 84. Com. Konar was ailing for some time.
He was a militant leader of the agricultural workers / peasant movement and was a three time MLA. He is the brother of veteran leader Com.Hare Krishna Konar.

The National Convention of Workers held at Mavelankar Hall Annexe New Delhi today, 15 September has called upon the workers to organise National Protest Day on 5 December 2014 all over the country. The Convention called by the 11 Central Trade Unions also decided to hold Massive Conventions during October – November.
Details of the convention will be posted  later.

According to latest reports, there are still one lakh people to be saved from the flooded areas in J&K. They are waiting to be rescued. More than 2 lakh have been rescued already from stranded positions.
This indeed is a National Disaster and National Tragedy.

The Circle Conference of BSNLEU Haryana Circle was held at Bhiwani today, 14 September 2014 successfully. Com.Naresh Kumar, Circle President, presided. About 250 delegates attended. Com. M.S.Kadian, Circle Secretary, Haryana, welcomed all.
The Open Session was addressed by Coms. V.A.N.Namboodiri, All India President, P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary, Kuldeep Singh, All India Asst. Treasurer as also Shri S.P.Tripathi, GM Rohtak.
The conference adopted the Report presented by Com.M.S.Kadian, Circle Secretary and also the Accounts.
All the District Secretaries participated in the discussion.
The Conference unanimously elected office bearers with Coms. Naresh Kumar as President and M.S.Kadian as Circle Secretary.
The conference was a good success.

A National Convention of Workers will be held on 15 September 2014 at  Mavlankar Hall Annexe New Delhi organised by the 11 Central Trade Unions to protest against the anti-worker decisions of the government and to decide future programme of action. BSNLEU is participating. Important decisions will be taken in the meeting against the anti-worker policy of the Central Hovernment.

About 80% of BSNL services in J&K have been restored. The Army and BSNL staff deserve all appreciation.
BSNL has also announced free service/calls for one week. Good gesture.
Forum of BSNL UNIONS& Associations has called upon BSNL employees to donate one day basic salary to J&K Relief.
This  is the time to make all out efforts to help the suffering people of J&K.

The 21 Party Congress of CPI(M) will be held at Visakhapatnam from 14 to 19th April 2015. The decision was taken by the PB meeting held from 10 to 13 September 2014.

Today is the Senior Citizen Day of Japan and they can be happy, because their numbers are increasing.
It is reported that there are 58,820 Senior Citizens in Japan who have crossed 100 years. Out of these, 87% are women. Good record. It is stated that the health care system is one of the best in the world like Cuba.

The Forum of BSNL Unions/ Associations has taken the correct and commendable decision. The meeting of the Forum held today, 12 September 2014, has called upon BSNL employees to donate one day basic salary from the salary for September towards the relief of J&K people, who have lost their all in the unprecedented savage floods.
