It is a shame for the ruling class in India. The World bank has released the list of the countries where exist extreme poverty. According to the list, India tops with 33% of the world’s poorest. The other countries with next poorest are China (13%), Nigeria (7%), Bangladesh ( 6%) and Congo ( 5%). Indonesia, Pakistan, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Kenya come next.
Except China, all other countries have been under the colonial rule much more than India and / or are most poor countries in the world. While in India it is 33%, in China it is only 7%.
Even after 67 years of independence, India has utterly failed its poor and poorest. It is a shame on the ruling class who has been exploiting the poor in the most shameful way. Millionaires have been increasing in India by leaps and bounds. Both Congress and BJP which had ruled the country most of the time are fully responsible for this sad situation. Both of them should be thrown out from power by the people. The present opportunity should be utilised for the same.
Please Check your post once more. China is having 13% poor people and Bangladesh, Nijeria etc., having only 6% and 7% poor people, are not believable, even if it is published by World Bank. There are concerted efforts of the Neo-Liberal Proponents to show that China, though has made enormous progress, it is due to that Neo-liberal-Capitalistic system. They also wants to deny the fact that China has been able to reduce poverty drastically and that there is no hungry people at China, due to existence of Socialist system there. The neo-liberals want to establish that poverty and hunger cannot be eleminated through socialism for which, even after admitting immense progress of China, they prepare concocted stories that China has not been able to eliminate hunger, poverty or inequality, despite clinging to its socialistic system side by side accepting Neo-Liberal Economy. So, we must be careful while choosing and citing the statistical information of those Capitalistic financial institutes like World Bank and IMF.
Dear Comrade,
It is true that WB, IMF, WTO etc. will try to ridicule and show the socialist countries in a bad taste. But still, these organisations are considered by many countries as reliable. Unless we get more accurate information from reliable sources, or these informations are questioned, we do not have other information.
