FIR, Kejriwal, Mukesh Ambani, Natural Gas price

Though the Cabinet has already decided to double he price of the Natural Gas, which will mainly benefit Mukesh Ambani’s company by thousands of crores of rupees, the orders for the same are yet to be issued. The officials in the concerned ministries are naturally worried about he impact of the FIR filed against Ambani by the Kejrival Government in Delhi, before its exit.
More and more evidences are coming out which exposes that there is not necessity to double the prices. More will come if the case is taken up. The unholy connection of the government-corporates-politician is being exposed more and more.
Let us hope that the people will give a suitable reply to them in the general elections.

General Elections, Lok Sabha

The 15th Lok Sabha had its last sitting on 21st February 2014. Before the General elections, there will not be any further sitting of the Lok Sabha. it will be the newly elected parliamentarians who will attend the next session.
The entire 5 year period of the Lok Sabha and the UPA government which will complete by May 2014 have been full of allegations of corruption, mismanagement of governance, rocketing price rise, attacks on the rights of the workers and pensioners, massive disinvestment and privatisation etc. It also saw mighty struggles of the working class led by the 11 Central Trade Unions, including the first 48 hours strike on 20-21 February 2013 by more than 12 rore workers.
Now the election mode has come in right earnest. All are awaiting the declaration of the Election Commission about the same.
Whether the general election will see an alternative government coming other than UPA and NDA. It depends on the people.

165 Mhz Spectrum to be auctioned in 2014-15

21 Friday Feb 2014

Government will auction about 165 megahertz of spectrum in financial year 2014-15 that is held by telecom operators whose licences are set to expire in December 2015.

“Next year many more licences will come up for renewal for which there will be again auction in next financial year 2014-15,” Telecom Secretary MF Farooqui told PTI.

In December 2015, four licences of Bharti Airtel, 7 each of Idea Cellular and Reliance Telecom and 6 of Vodafone will complete their 20 year term and will have to be renewed.

These companies hold most of the spectrum in the premium 900 Mhz band for which they have paid up to twice more than the base price fixed by government in this month’s auction.

The 10-day long auction that ended last week gave the government over Rs 61,162 crore, far exceeding its own target. Eight telecom firms had bid for 900 Mhz and 1800 Mhz bands.

The licences that are expiring in 2015 jointly hold about 143.8 Mhz in 900 Mhz, and 21.8 Mhz in 1800 Mhz band.

The Telecom Secretary said the government will also try to auction spectrum in the 800 Mhz band, which is being used for providing CDMA services. It will also take a call on auction of generally most expensive spectrum in 700 Mhz band.

“Government will have to take careful call on auction of 700 Mhz in next financial bases on the availability of eco-system for it. We will have to decide on it before next round of spectrum auction,” Farooqui said.

On the impact of high price of spectrum on telecom tariffs, he said that he expects that the competition in the market will put pressure on companies to keep the service rates at low and, in future, technology will ensure that prices are maintained at affordable level.(Courtesy: Business Standard)

Subsidised LPG cylinders can be purchased without having an Aadhaar account, the government informed the Lok Sabha on Friday.

A clarification on delinking Aadhaar account from disbursal of subsidised LPG cylinders would be issued within a week, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Veerappa Moily said during Question Hour.

The government has at last understood that the earlier decision to link subsidy cylinders to Aadhar is not correct. The Supreme Court had already told the government that it does not stand legal scrutiny.

Central Govt., Form, pension

N EW DELHI, FEB 21:
Government today introduced a new pension form for its retired employees which simplifies the process of sanctioning pension and doing away with the requirement for submission of affidavits.

The new ‘Form 5’ has been brought for the benefit of pensioners and it will record all information on the basis of self-attestation by the individual concerned, said Sanjay Kothari, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms, Public Grievances and Pension.

“While changes have been made in a number of (other) forms, special change is being made only on Form-5,” he said.

The information to be filled in by retiring government employees is restricted to their name, address and bank account details, Kothari said.

“In addition, employees’ mobile number and e-mail id if available is also being collected for ease of correspondence in future. These steps will go a long way toward reducing inconvenience of the individual as well as making the process more transparent,” he added.(COURTESY: Business Line)

A.P., Telengana state

Telengana has become the 29th state in the country after the Telengana Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha. The Lok Sabha has passed the bill a few days back.
Thus a new state has been formed by the bifurcation of the present A.P.state.

Congrats to Public Sector Banks and their Workers for sustained growth

NPA, profit, PSU Banks

Whatever the government may say about the Public Sector Banks, it is on record that there is steady growth. Despite the thousands of crores of bad loan/NPA, the profit of the banks are on the rise. The following statistics for the last few years show the steady growth of the PSU Banks.
Year Profit in crores
2008-09 Rs. 33,514
2009-10 Rs. 38,225
2010-11 Rs. 43,250
2011-12 Rs. 47,483
2012-13 Rs. 48,700

The bad loans which are given the label ‘Non-Performing Assets’ (NPA) have also increased. From Rs. 39,030 crore in 2007-08, it has increased to Rs. 1,64,461 crore in 2012-13. The defaulters are mainly the big corporates and the big business. You can see the name of all the big corporates in the defaulters list. A leader of the Bank Employees has stated that about 50% of the bad loans are by the 30-40 top corporates of the country and the central govt. is supporting them by not taking any action against them. Despite these huge bad loans the PSU Banks are in profit.
Hearty congratulations to the PSU Banks and their workers!
