The 15th Lok Sabha had its last sitting on 21st February 2014. Before the General elections, there will not be any further sitting of the Lok Sabha. it will be the newly elected parliamentarians who will attend the next session.
The entire 5 year period of the Lok Sabha and the UPA government which will complete by May 2014 have been full of allegations of corruption, mismanagement of governance, rocketing price rise, attacks on the rights of the workers and pensioners, massive disinvestment and privatisation etc. It also saw mighty struggles of the working class led by the 11 Central Trade Unions, including the first 48 hours strike on 20-21 February 2013 by more than 12 rore workers.
Now the election mode has come in right earnest. All are awaiting the declaration of the Election Commission about the same.
Whether the general election will see an alternative government coming other than UPA and NDA. It depends on the people.
