Whether we are working indoor or outdoor or in shift duties or fixed duties, a time is usually fixed to start our duty and the time for off duty. This is necessary to ensure that the tasks entrusted to us are attended in time and the work finished as early as possible. There are certain targets fixed also to complete the work.
There was a time when the P and T Department was considered as the most efficient Department. The P and T workers were appreciated for their dedication, commitment and excellent service. Telecom was part of this, and the service with all the limitations was considered as excellent.
Now BSNL is in a difficult situation. Financial viability has gone down and this PSU in loss for the last four years. There are a lot of complaints of delay in repair of faults, delay in providing connections etc. It is true that BSNL, a PSU, can not function like a private company. BSNL is a fully government owned company and there are many rules and regulations of the government to be complied with. Some delay of course take place due to these constraints.
Yet our services can be improved if we are determined. Here, I am only pointing about one thing, the need to be punctual and committed to our duties, whichever be the cadre, whether ITS, Executives or Non-Executives. Everybody has got their duties defined.
Some in the management side will say that the employees are not punctual. The same complaint is about the management officers also. Blame Game does not reach us anywhere.
What is required is action. If all of us from the top management to the lowest paid worker decide that we all will work with determination and full commitment, there surely is going to have a big change for the better.
And towards this better efficiency, one of the prime ingredient is the punctuality in attending to office/our duties.This will certainly make a big difference. If the management and workers in private companies can attend to their duties in time,can’t the management and workers in BSNL do the same or better. I am not forgetting that even now, a large number of workers are punctual. But we want all our workers and officers at their posts in time.
Are we all capable of fulfilling this responsibility? I am sure we are. Let us make maximum efforts to ensure our punctuality which will go in a big way to improve our services better and better.

presently corporate office filled all executives with high qualified in only education ex;diploma/Btech/ITS&mba SINCE 2000 recruitment. all they top level to jto/tta direct recruit only bottom level staff not taken if the corporate office once think about our constitution say maintain proportion of 40%60 .
IF BSNL FILL WANT TAKE 1000 THEN THEY TAKE FIRST 400 AS CASUAL/OR TSM THEY FULLY GET THE FIELED KNOWLEDGE IN PRACTICAL AND THE HIGH EDUCATED HAS ONLY THEORITICAL KNOWLEDGE IN ONLY ONE FIELED THAT IS ONLY SOFT WARE ONLY BSNL NOT RUNS ONLY SOFTWAREIENS THIS IS MY OPENION

Dear sir it is need of hour to panctual for duties but it has come that all are not coming in time to there duties and flew away during duty time for some say to meet doctor and today birthday party and now someone die all things are going on duty period but when asked they become angry that it is also our right to go but if we want to carry our relation we have to take leave but nobody is worried only one person you are worried about bsnl pl take a promt action
Survival of BSNL is very important. We have to sacrifice some of our convenience for the same.
Sir, I disagree with the claim that duties are well defined in BSNL.
What once started as the wish of king/SSA Head has now taken the shape of rules of BSNL. No motivation comes from outside it is always inside us. There are many reasons why the employees who were once motivated now feel demotivated.
The stand of unions and associations including BSNLEU and SNEA/AIBSNEA etc. to take the stand of silent spectator or to use the issues of BSNL interest in the settlement of employee’s welfare has taken us to a position of helplessness.
When I used to study in my school days I have noticed that what we can cover in the one hour of early morning cannot be covered in the two hours of a day. This conveys that 8 hours of devoted work is equivalent of 16 hours duty.
But what is happening in BSNL can be summarized in a simple line from the movie BATMAN:
Introduce a little anarchy- Upset the established order and everything becomes chaos
Dear Comrade, As you stated P and T Department was one of the most efficient services in the country for a very long time. But the situation has changed, mainly after the formation of BSNL. The Government, which wants to privatise or at least disinvest BSNL is not interested in strengthening it or supporting it. The ruling class are interested in handing over the same to MNCs/corporates. The top management has become completely inefficient and is not interested in development due to various reasons, which are well known to all. The workers are not getting any motivation and their issues are not settled. Despite this negative situation, it is the duty of the working class to change it for better. That is what Forum of BSNL Unions and Associations is trying to do. Even this effort has some impact as seen in the reduction of loss and also services improving a bit, equipment being procured etc. It is a very hard work, but except the workers, nobody seems to be much interested. Hence it is our job to motivate and fight to save BSNL.
