Dr.BR Ambedkar

Bharat Ratna Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, was not only the architect of the Constitution of India, but is one of the greatest Indians ever lived.
His entire life was a struggle for justice – justice to the downtrodden, justice to the under-privileged, justice for the common people of the country. He had to suffer all kinds of humiliations only because he was born in the ‘lowest caste’.
It was through sustained and continuous hard work that he reached the highest position in service of the people.
On this day, 6th December, 57 years earlier, he passed away, but still shines in the minds of the people as before or probably more.

My Respectful Homage to the memory of Dr. Ambedkar on Mahaparinirwan Diwas, the death anniversary!

21 years after Demolition of Babri Masjid

6th December 1992, Demolition of Babri Masjid

One of the most heinous act in the country was enacted 21 years back in the city of Ayodhya by the RSS and Hindu communalists which resulted in a chain of reaction causing death of hundreds of people of both Hindu and Muslims through communal violence.
Yes, it was on 6th December 1992, that the Babri Masjid was demolished by the RSS karsevaks numbering more than one lakh mobilised in a pre-planned manner. It was in the presence of the top BJP leadership and the latter could have stopped the crime, but they were part of it. Both the central and state government also failed to stop it despite prior information.

Such incidents destroy communal harmony as also creates communal divide. Not only let us hope that such incidents are stopped in future but also make all out efforts to restore communal harmony in the country.

Beware! – Aadhar has CIA Connection.

05 Thursday Dec 2013

The report that the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has tied up with a US company with CIA links is a matter of deep concern. According to a report in the Economic Times, a US company, MongoDB, is providing the software to manage the data base for the registration of Aadhar. One of the investors in this company is the CIA.

Earlier too, the UIDAI had entered into contracts with the US based company, L-1 Identity Solutions, and another French company for the Aadhar project. The collection of personal data and biometrics of all Indian citizens through the Aadhar programme has been made available to the United State’s agencies through the employment of these companies. It is now known through the Snowden files that the US authorities have been suborning all data through US telecom and internet companies. The Indian government and the UIDAI has compromised the vital data collected of Indian citizens by such tie-ups.

The UIDAI collection of data has no legal basis. It is also being used illegally to make the Aadhar number compulsory for delivery of social services and subsidies.

We demand the cancellation of the tie-up with foreign companies and a suspension of the Aadhar scheme till Parliament deliberates and decides on its future and, if required, a legislative enactment.(Coutsey: Press

BSNL , Mini Ratna PSE, is given the grading ” Excellent”. Excellent is the highest grading.
“Excellent ” grading is also granted to MTNL, TCL and Millennium Telecom Ltd. BBNL is graded “Poor” since its report has not been received so far.

This a good information. We should also ensure that the service is excellent as also finance.

Left will raise crucial issues in the winter session of Parliament

Left Parties, Parliament., Winter Session

Left parties would try to corner
the government by raising issues like price rise, growing
unemployment and corruption scandals in the winter session of
Parliament.

Left sources said their leaders have already submitted an
adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha to raise a discussion on
price rise to attack the government.

Exuding confidence that other opposition parties would
also join them in raising the demand for discussion on rising
inflationary graph, they said CPI(M), CPI, Forward Bloc and
RSP planned to corner the Congress-led coalition by raking up
the issue of hike in prices of essential commodities – ranging from onions to salt, besides petroleum products.

Another crucial item on the Left agenda is the report of
the Joint Parliamentary Committee on 2G spectrum scam, which,
these parties claim, was incomplete. By refusing to call Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram for questioning in connection with the probe, JPC chairman P C Chacko had omitted a crucial aspect of the inquiry into the 2G scam, the Left parties have maintained.

They are also likely to join other opposition parties in
raising corruption scandals like the CWG and coal scams, the
sources said.

The Left parties would also seek a discussion on the
ongoing Bali meeting of the WTO on food security issue, saying the interests of Indian farmers should not be compromised to benefit developed countries under any circumstances.

NPA (Bad Loans) of PSU Banks reached Rs. 1,64,000 crore!

Bad Loans, NPA, PSU Banks

According to the reports, the Non-Performing Assets (NPA) or the loans taken from the banks and which have not been returned, of the Public Sector Banks has reached a huge Rs.1.64 Lakh crore in 2013. This is an increase of more than four fold increase during the last 5 years. The NPA was Rs. 39,000 crores in 2008.
Almost all the big corporates seem to be in the list of offenders. Many of them have taken hundreds of crores of rupees and failed to pay or did not pay.
According to the list of corporates who did not pay back the loans taken published by the All India bank Employees Union, Vijay Mallya’s King Fisher tops with Rs. 2,673 Crore dues.

The Bank Unions have also demanded that the Banks should publish the list of all offenders who did not repay the loans. They also demanded that inquiry should be ordered whether these loans were sanctioned as per rules or were given in violation of the existing rules and fix the responsibility.

The favour shown to the corporates and private big business, especially after the implementation of the neo-liberal policies have resulted in such distortions and violations of laws in many areas, and banking sector is not any different.

The Government and the Bank authorities should take immediate action to recover the amounts which will strengthen the banks and put an end to the loot of the public money through the bad loans.

Accord on Iran – What is the impact on India

Impact on India, Iran Accord

The Accord on Iran at the UN level is one of the welcome news at the international level. The issue of nuclear enrichment by Iran was made a big issue by the US and other imperialist countries and they wanted attack on Iran on some plea just like they have done in the case of Afghanistan and Iraq. Their effort to make attack on Syria could not fully succeed. And the main target was Iraq, which is the eye-sore for Israel and A.Arabia, the close allies of US.
In these circumstances, the agreement between Iraq and the five permanent members of the UN viz. US,Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany, though for a temporary period is welcome. It may bring a turn about for a lasting agreement later.
This accord will benefit India to restore its oil purchase from Iran, which was reduced to 20% after the blockade on Iran oil by the US. It will also repair the relations between the two countries, which was adversely affected after India voted against Iran in the UN.
