Along with Coms. K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary AIBDPA and Swapan Chakraborty, AGS BSNLEU, I met Shri R.K.Upadhyay, CMD BSNL and discussed certain important issues. The delay in issuing orders on 78.2% was focussed and stressed the need to ensure early issue of orders by DOT. It was pointed out by us that there is acute delay in issue of orders for removal of anomaly of seniors getting less thantheir juniors occured in the 2000 wage revision from CDA to IDA, though the joint committee of official and staff side has already agreed a few months back. The unions also demanded tht the minimum pension for BSNL retirees should be Rs. 3,880 (half of the lowest wage Rs.7760) instead of Rs. 3500 as at present.

The union representatives also demanded the CMD to immediately take up with the DOT/Government for exemption of one-time charge for the extra-spectrum BSNL is having considering the social commitment of the government being implemented by BSNL. BSNL management should take up with the DOT for early reimbursement of charges for the spectrum, which has already been surrendered by BSNL. The DOT should also be pressurised to release the Rs. 1,500 crore from USO Fund without delay. CMD assured that early action will be taken in these matters.
