The environmentalists and social activists are continuously focussing on the danger of brutal and uncontrolled exploitation of the natural resources in the country like mines, minerals, water etc. Despite all warnings and rules restricting the same, the unbridled exploitation continues. While travelling from Goa to Belgaum today, 20th October, I saw how much disaster is being made by the land-mine mafias.
Vast areas near the roads have been devastated by the mining of bauxite. Some hills have been completely wiped by breaking the granite rocks. The areas seemed like a battle-field almost destroying the entire greenery and nature. At present the mining has been stayed by the government. Dozens of lorries and trucks could be seen on the road side idle at present but which was used to transport the bauxite, rocks etc.
This is only the condition of one small area. All over India this type of uncontrolled exploitation is continuing. It is certain some natural disaster may happen if this savagery on nature is not stopped.
Sir,
I got the following news, so just sharing it with all of you.
With profound grief It is informed that BSNLEU’s Gaziabad District Secretary, Com. Sukendra Pal Singh has expired today. It is alleged that he was attacked by the General Manager, BSNL, and his goondas, in the GM Office, due to which the death has taken place. BSNLEU pays it’s respectful homage to Com. Sukendar Pal Singh. BSNLEU also severely condemns this brutal act, and calls upon our branches to conduct powerful protest demonstrations tomorrow the 23.10.2012, demanding proper investigation and arrest of the culprits.

We as BSNL Staff members strictly condemn such ghastly act and demand thorough investigations & Exemplary punishment for the accused, if found guilty. In BSNL, there is no place for such instances & all officers/leaders should refrain from exercising muscle powers on people who raise voice against injustice.
We deeply mourn the death of our colleague.

This is the height of Anti-worker & Anti-Union activity performed by the management…. All Unions should take it seriously and demand for strict action against the culprits. Comrade is Martyr of EU. Immediate cash financial help as well as facilities provided on compassionate base should be given to his children.

I echo the views expressed by the friend, BSNLEU must release some significant amount from their huge bank balance for the grief stricken family.
It is the right time to utilise the Money for the great cause. It will be a great effort from the Union to remember.
