The meeting of the change of designation committee was held today. The staff side demanded early agreement on the demands put by the staff side. The staff side once again reiterated the demands with full data and justification. It seems that the official side is against granting the designation with Officer, Engineer etc. Staff side expressed its strong protest against the totally unjustified stand of the official side.
The next meeting will be held on 24th August.

i feel that officer word does not feasible for TOAs. It looks like executive post so i think committee need to rethink and redesign the ranks. else all the meetings will be unfruitful. How can a Group-C Employee have an officer tag..it looks awkward. This is the reason BSNL Mgmt will never get agree to it. So like Engineer will be unacceptable for TTAs.
In my personal view, TTAs can easily get Junior Engineer Telecom. Mgmt may give us Junior Engineer tag easily as discussed and supported by you & BSNLEU since year-2006. Infact all other Unions/Associations (NFTE, FNTO & SNATTA) are of the same view too. Kindly consider it as all have one view on atleast for TTAs.

Officer is a term used for all employees as can be seen from the disciplinary proceedings, CCS(CCA) Rules etc. Our demand for the posts of Officer, Engineer etc. to Non-executives is not agreed to by the official side stating the same point that you are pointing out that designation of Officer and Engineer can not be given to non-executives. BSNLEU differ on the matter and is demanding that both these designations can be given to the non-executives.
Sir,I feel it is a suitable designation to TOA as TAO(O stands for Offier) since its qualification is graduation + one year diploma not merely become ESP to JE then JTO.In Kerala Police constable becomes Police Officer(Civil)

No decision could be taken in the meeting so far and there is a stalemate. We are trying to settle the issue as early as possible. At present there is no dress code for the staff in BSNL.

as news came on bsnleu website today that management totally rejecting the demand of staff side. but i want to one thing sir, what management suggesting about designation, both side are discussing same things but we dont know what management wanting to give us….
The solution is to do the vidio recording of every meeting of UNions and Management and put it on intranet.

NFTE, FNTO and BTEU organisations are in favour of Office Manager designtion. The tag ‘TELECOM’ and ‘Grades’ are not necessary since the designation becomes lengthty. Lengthtier names do not get popular. Shorter the name and quicker the people get used to speaking it. The above suggested new designations are shorter. Already four years have elapsed over this issue. Please change soon.
Suggestion by Mr R.Ganesh are very practical and possible to get approve those designation from management if genuine effort from staff side, but we came to know that management just discontinue the said committee of change of designation after last meeting.
It is not the management which has discontinued the meeting. There was almost an understanding on the new designations in the earlier meeting. But in the last meeting, the official side in the committee went back from the understanding. In protest against this somersault of the official side, the staff side protested and walked out. The Union has now taken the matteer with Director (HRD) for accepting our genuine demands.
The comments offered by Shri. R.Ganesh seems to be practical and
justified. In addition when the Sr.TOA official get pre-9200 pay scale (yet to be approved) they are to be re-designated as Sr.Chief Office Manager. All other suggestions relating to other cadres seems to hold good.

In the future meetings of Designation Committee, kindly omit the tag ‘Telecom’, ‘Grades’ in the new designations because – We are now BSNL, not Telecom. There are so many Telecom companies in India. As such, it is not at all necessary.
want to move ahead and aiming to be in the front why consensus. give employees what they want and make them feel responsible and improve their productivity without any extra cost. these kind of attitudes from the administatio will demoralise the % who are hard working others wont mide who they are………..
