A perusal of the available information clearly shows that the government has completely surrendered to the demands of the private telecom companies while finalising the NTP-2012. Whether it is spectrum sharing or allotting spectrum or financing, the policy is on the side of the private telcos. No benefit is shown to the PSU telecoms, BSNL and MTNL. A serious analysis has to be done after the full text of the policy is available.

It has also been decided in the NTP 12 that the India would be made a hub for manufacturing of Telcom material. We should have to explore that how to utilise this for better utilisation of Telecom factories. Adhir Sen.
