Irrespective of the ideology, colour of the flag, all the Central Trade Unions have come together for struggle to protect the rights of the workers. AITUC, CITU, INTUC, BMS, HMS, UTUC and anoher 5 Central trade Unions are part of this united struggle.
On 8th November lakhs of workers belonging to all the above unions will organise Rasta Roko / Satyagraha participated by lakhs of workers.

ITS Absorptionby vannamboodiri
A lot of comrades are asking what will happen if all the ITS oficers opt for DOT and there is nobody left behind. It is not like that. Many Class I offcers have already opted for BSNL, but they will not be sufficient to manage the company. If about 100 opt for BSNL, according to Sam Pitroda Committee, that will be more than sufficient. But I doubt whether so much Class I / ITS will seek absorption.
In that case the alternative seems to be to depute limited class I /ITS officers for a short period to the BSNL. Immediately start recruitment for Management trainees, including from eligible executives and non-executives. Ensure that the process is over by one year. After sufficient trained candidates are available, the deputation can be ended and the class I / ITS officers on deputation can be sent back to Government.
But anyhow, it is the responsibility of the DOT / BSNL to ensure that work of the BSNL is not suffered due to this absorption issue.
